FINAL IMAGES

In the 1950 image i put the image on photoshop and changed it to black/white i then made the contrast really high and faded the corners with the rubber tool on a separate layer, I also blurred the image to create the desired effect

i did this to the image after researching images of the 1950s through to 2010

In the 1960 image i changed the image again to black/white and the altered the hue and saturation to get the right type of effect for that time i gain blurred the image slightly

In the 1970 image i only altered the hue and saturation to create the right effect for that time!

the image is in colour but has a really dark effect to it.there is a slight blur to the image which is normal for that time

The 1980s image has a lot more colour and isn't as blurred as much, i also made the image darker 

the  90s picture is far more in focus and has a lot more colour to it although i did darken the image up a little on photoshop

in my last picture i didn't do any editing what so ever!

for my final image for equality and diversity i used justice scales to show to show the balance of race over the years!

I had the idea of using a justice scale to show equal opportunity, i went online and looked at buying one  only to find they are priced around £200+ 'because of this i decided to build my own using 2x kitchen roll holders,a set of coasters and some string!

i filed down the point on the first kitchen roll holder to create a pivot and then balanced the other holder on top,

i then put 3 hooks into 2 coasters and attached  the to either end of the second holder' this created the scales main body!

then after some little touch ups it was finished.

The Shoot

for my shoot i decided to take a series of images with a playground as the backdrop! i chose a playground as i think its a good representation of somewhere that have mix races, I put the justice scale on a hill overlooking the playground which give me a good depth of field and i started taking different shots with different dates starting from the 1950s 

i then put to balls also in black and white on opposite sides, The white ball was on the black side and the black ball was on the white side

I then took 6 pictures using f-16 and ISO 100 with 1/125

I put a date on each of the 6 images from 1950-2010 which was when the equality and diversity act was done. I also balanced the scales on each image to show how unbalanced equality and diversity was in the 1950s and 60s and so on , each image showed a different balance until it gradually levels itself out in 2010
